VR Training for Offshore Technical Operations

Offshore personnel practice essential operations in a lifelike platform environment. In this project, we designed and delivered a fully immersive VR training program that replicates the spatial, environmental, and procedural realities of offshore work.

The experience begins with the participant positioned on the deck of a virtual offshore platform. They navigate the environment, receive instructions, and perform routine operational tasks—such as approaching designated work zones, handling safety-approved tools, and interacting with equipment like access panels and secured compartments, all while following established safety protocols.

The simulation continues with technical scenarios that include opening control cabinets, operating equipment in confined spaces, and working at height or near edges exposed to environmental factors. Each task must be completed according to defined procedures, promoting precision, spatial awareness, and procedural discipline.

Learning & Development Value

The simulation is built with integrated performance tracking. Every action is recorded and evaluated, with immediate feedback given when a step is missed or incorrectly performed. Trainees are encouraged to repeat key actions until they are consistently executed with accuracy.

This method supports both onboarding and ongoing workforce development by reinforcing operational consistency, improving safety compliance, and providing data-driven insights for L&D teams.

By allowing teams to practice real tasks under realistic conditions—without the pressure or risk of live deployment—this VR training experience accelerates readiness and reduces operational exposure.
